  1. I am wondering what they will do ultimately when it comes to finding a supt. Will they go with an education reformer, someone who is creative and thinks out of the box? Or will they choose the typical old system re-tread? I am interested in everyone's thoughts.

  2. What's your opinion of our interim superintendent, Lee Levesque? I'd suspect the board will be seeking an individual of his caliber, diversity, and capability -- one that doesn't just fit into a simplified stereotype.

In my admittedly limited experience and interaction, I'm very impressed with Superintendent Levesque. Especially his pragmatism, engagement with the community, and his composure when addressing difficult issues/individuals. Great progress has been made in the few short months in the recent budget process, state policy integration, district policies, and community communication -- areas that often stagnated in the past. Regarding communication, the new superintendent monthly reports and recent community forums are unprecedented for Oyster River Cooperative in recent history and are very much appreciated.

I place a great deal of value on any leader's ability to get people talking and working together -- I hope the new superintendent measures up to our current in that regard.
