  3. In all sincerity, I hope those quotation marks are not being used ironically...

  4. This is good news for the Oyster River schools. We need a leader who will work with various groups and bring people together. Not someone who pits groups against each other and undermines individuals.

  5. In all sincerity, that is what he actually said.
    No interest. Seriously.

  6. This is an opportunity for our district, our staff and our students. I hope the board will seek a leader that has the ability to communicate and collaborate. In Foster's today Colter stated his desire to continue work on communication, I hope this will occur, as at this point this goal is far from reach.
We need a leader with a vision that is inclusive and supportive of all stakeholders.
This is good news for our district, and provides hope for those of us that desire more in a leader.
For those that remember the days of Tom Carroll we hope to return to his inclusive, collaborative style that allowed for a vision and supportive leader.

  7. Did anyone get the idea that in the Foster's article Colter was tring to take credit for the Strategic Plan??? That would be laughable if it weren't so darned annoying.

  8. as a teacher in the district (ORHS), I will miss his generosity, leadership and his trust. No one is perfect but from an educator's point of view, he has allowed us some leeway to try new things and think outside the box. We try using innovative activities that push the objective of improving students' critical thinking skills.

On this, I will miss Howard when he retires. I hope and pray that the next superintendent has the students' best interest as his/her priority - not board members' pet issues.

I think this district was spoiled by Tom Carroll, by far the best superintendent in the country. Those of you try to compare anyone to Tom are sorely disappointed.

  9. I agree. I too hope the next superintendent will be one who has superior education as their first and foremost goal in their job - not a budget cruncher like Henry and his minions will want.

  10. We need a Superintendent who is able to put education first while keeping his or her eye on the prize (keeping our budget down). It is ignorant to presume that there has to be a divide between the issues. If Colter were as wonderful as some would have us believe,it would not go unnoticed. His actions regarding the whole Townsend scandal sealed my opinions on his moral character.
