    The lies of David Taylor.
I just watched the forum, and have to say....
    1. September 23rd David voted against the charter of the strategic plan. He said he voted for it.
    2. 1/21/09 he voted against adding in money for a holding place for a teacher in case it was needed. He said tonight he supports kids and teachers.
    3. 1/21/09 he voted against the budget. He said tonight he supports administration.
    4. 4/1/09 he said the book good to great was our strategic plan. Tonight he said he supports the efforts of the plan.
    5. 4/15/09 voted against early retirement. Saying that when numerous English teachers retired it desimated the English departement, truly and insult to those teachers remaining.
    6. 6/3/09 voted against Jennifer and Jocelyn being the board representatives to the strategic planning committte. Tonight said it is important to work together and stop the divisions.
    7. 11/4/09 voted against the citizens who volunteered to be on the working groups for the strategic plan.

As a teacher in our district I can say this.
He is not a real supporter, he only supports what the administration tells him to do. Our voices and the voices of the students are not being heard.
Pay attention to his real record, not what he presented this evening.

  2. I like David Taylor, thought he did a great job, spoke eloquently and gave thoughtful and detailed answers.

I could come up with a similar list of votes for each board member -- whether it is David or JoAnn or Jennifer or Henry or Mark.....

  3. I would encourage you to do your research.

I would challenge the notion that some of the junior members of the Board have records that would demonstrate public lies on TV (that it not to say that it might be the case 12 years from now...)

  4. While it is noble that David Taylor has spent 12 years on the Board, it is time to let new energy and people with serious enthusiasm give their time to the District.

I think Ann Wright and Krista Butts have much to learn but would really do a great job on the Board and bring a fresh perspective.

  5. All three candidates did a great job. They all gave honest answers and all three will be excellent board members. Given that the current board is lacking experience (David and JoAnn are the longest serving members) we need David back on the board.

Ann Wright did an awesome job. Like all the other board members, she will have a lot to learn. Given her background, her experience and willingness to educate herself on the issues, I will vote for her too.

With Christa, we need to stay as far away from people who are close to Roger Speidel. He is poison to our district and they are very close.

Vote David and Ann in March!

  6. I don't think Krista and Roger even know each other or share any values. Please stop posting rumors.

  7. This is so typical, lets tear down anyone who may try to make a change. Krista does not know Roger. Period, end of story. Stop spreading stories.

  8. Not shocking at all--David will post lies to get elected--TYPICAL

He lied on a number of occasions last night so why not?

We do not need the kind of experience that David and JoAnn bring to the table.

Let's start fresh and give Henry, Jocelyn and Jennifer the support they need to get the job done!

Hat's off to Krista and Ann for their courage and their enthusiasm. You have my support.

  9. Disgusting

Whether David posted this lie is irrelevant to me. If supportors are stooping to this level to try to get David back in office, then you can rest assured that I will vote with the other candidates. I have supported David in the past but this is the end of the line for me. I will still do my homework on the other two. But, I think the children and the citizens of this community deserve better.

  10. David Taylor does not listen to or respect the public. Time for him to leave. JoAnn - you can too.

  11. Krista and Ann are a two individual women who want great things.

  12. Spreading false rumors such as "Krista is close to Roger Speidel" is the strategy that has been used in the past few elections. Why is it that they can't support their candidate using the record? Food for thought.

  13. Rumors? Would anyone out there confirm that they have seen them together? If you don't want these things out there, then they should go another town to eat lunch.

  14. As I have posted before (and I always post my name) I am an honest candidate who really wants to serve our community on this school board. I do know that Roger Speidel is a resident of Durham, only because I have heard him speak at school board meetings of which I attended. I have spoken with Roger before or after meetings to ask him questions about his research or to thank him for caring about our community. It is not a matter of right or wrong, it is his opinion and he is entitled to it whether I agree or disagree with it or any one else for that matter. If I have been out to lunch with Mr. Speidel, please inform me whether I enjoyed myself because I am unaware of that occasion. I am open to listening to the opinions of anyone in this community so that I can better serve it as a whole. Thank you all for your concern and opinions, but let's keep it positive. All three candidates have something to offer and it is your job to do the research, listen to our campaigns and decide who you would like to vote for. Please vote for your candidate on March 9th! Thank you.

  15. Thank you Krista for the post. These rumors only serve as fear mongering and should not be tolerated in our community!

  16. Thank you Krista. It is refreshing to have a candidate who is respectful even when she doesn't necessarily agree with another person. Could you possibly give lessons to David Taylor and his whole legion of minions?
