Do not apply electronically? What the heck? Are we in the dark ages, or are they just trying to make it more difficult?
ReplyDeleteWho is on this search committee? Where is the job description? Rochester had national applicants, I would assume we can do the same. I really hope this important position is given the attention and openness it deserves during this search process.
All the best to Mr. Cox.
What has become clear in my reading of the commentary present on this blog is the fact that, regardless of the information, circumstance or intent, at least one person will inevitably complain about one facet while setting the stage for further complaints down the road.
ReplyDeleteReading the commentary here is, at times, a tedious task.
All the best to Mr. Cox.
If anyone is interested, here is a slightly more detailed job desc below.

Blaine Cox had himself the same long term contract as Howard Colter. They set themselves up with a sweet contract and now Mr. Cox leaves for Rochester?
ReplyDeleteAs Grampa used to say; "1 scheming scoundrel + 1 scheming scoundrel = 2 scheming scoundrels"
So when will the 2nd scheming scoundrel leave?
ReplyDeleteIf I were interviewing the new business administrator, I would ask him or her about their opinion regarding the pre-school program that is going to be moving into the high school in the very near future. If they agreed that it made good business sense, I would not recommend hiring him or her for the position. Can you believe that our community is putting a pre-school program in at the high school?
ReplyDeleteThe majority of these students are disabled and less mature than your typical three or four year old. It makes no business or educational sense. If I were the parent of one of these students, I would argue that it was not the least restrictive environment. How is placing a three year old at a high school considered the least restrictive environment?
I heard the program was going to be placed near a common area for the high school students. An area where apples are typically pelted against the walls and, as one would expect, lots of "potty mouth," language.
Additionally, we have to waste more tax dollars on putting in new play equipment. Doesn't it make more sense to house them at one of our elementary schools? Especially knowing that it will help them transition to elementary school and there are already playground areas at the school. Our student enrollment has been decreasing so we should have the extra space. I also believe that the district should be filling up the extra high school space with students from other districts so that it will help defray expenditures.
